Tarnya’s Qualification’s and Experience
1996 to Current - Registered Nurse for almost 30 years, registered with AHPRA
2003 - Graduate Certificate in Child, Adolescent and Family Health, Flinders University 2003
2005 to 2025 - Child and Family Health Nurse with CaFHS, SA Health, working in my community in the Barossa Valley and the Country North region, including Port Augusta, Whyalla, Roxby Downs and across to Ceduna.
In this role I have participated in extensive education in infant-parent relationships including Helen Mayo Infant Mental Health course, MERTIL – My Early Relational Trauma Informed Learning, and Baby Friendly Health Initiative Accreditation to support, protect, and promote breastfeeding.
2016 - Certified as International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), recertified 2021
2017 - Certificate in Allergy Nursing, University of South Australia
2024 to current - Child and Family Health Nurse with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, based out of Port Augusta, week on, week off.
2025 - Presently studying and plan to gain accreditation with Neuroprotective Developmental Care, Possums NDC Institute
